Silverside Street (also known as Silverside St.) is an American animated soap opera produced by Procter & Gamble Animation and broadcast on CC Network for more than 52 years, from June 5, 1961 to September 27, 2013. Created by Irna Phillips and Joseph Schaustz, the series was the first animated daytime drama to primarily feature anthropomorphic animal characters. Silverside Street was expanded from 30 minutes to 45 minutes on June 16, 1975, and then to a full hour on January 7, 1980.
After nearly 52 years on the air, CC Network cancelled Silverside Street on April 8, 2013 due to low ratings. Animation for the final scenes wrapped up on August 16, 2013, and its final episode on the network aired on September 27, 2013.
