Hal is a dog from Nature Cat and Fred and the Nature Gang.
In the 2015 series, Hal is an overly curious, rambunctious, lovable dog. Some might think he’s not the smartest canine around, but he always comes up with the simplest solution to a problem. You might even call him a genius! He is so loyal to Nature Cat and the gang that he will do anything for them.
In Hammocks Animation's show Fred and the Nature Gang, Hal is a slobbery dog who is overly obsessed with food. When he sees any food, he screams "FOOD!!!" and goes and gobbles it up. If he eats something he did not like he coughs and says it was not yummy. He also has a best friend named Charlie who helps him when he is causing trouble around the house. He is also in love with a pink dog named Hayley who is his true love and they kiss each other. He also gets mad at Sir Higgins sometimes and calls him a weakling hamster. He also likes meeting new animals, unless if it's a huge, scary looking animal like a angry bear or a wolf.
In K9.5: Rebooted Series, Hal is more curious, silly, dimwitted, clumsy, and sensitive like his PBS Kids counterpart. Speaking of which, Hal tends to cry a lot of times due to him being sensitive like the time Ronald has hurt his feelings shown in Hal's Job, Hal Gets Fired, Hal's Great Heartbreak and What's Making Hal Uncomfortable?. He loves little children and when someone tends to pick on them, he would get very mad and would warn the abusers if they don't start taking care of kids, but no one calls him a bad guy. Also, Hal is shown to be a big eater like he is in the Fred and the Nature Gang series, he goes and gobbles everything up until he lets out a loud belch, much to his friends' disgust, and sometimes gets bloated and constipated and had to use the bathroom until he's all done. And of course, Hal can also be physically strong like carrying logs, tree branches, heavy rocks, and everything that he's strong enough, and his dimwittedness can get the better of him.
In Fred and the Nature Gang he is voiced by Joe Pantoliano.
In the caucasian dub of K9.5: Rebooted Series, he is voiced by Vargus Mason, making him sound like Kiyoshi from Hanazuki: Full of Treasures.
